Let’s look at who Bruce Lee truly was. He was the son of Hoichuen Lee (李海泉 [read as Lǐ Hǎiquán in Chinese], 1901–1965), a Cantonese opera star from Hong Kong. While in Hong Kong, he was introduced to the film industry by his father and appeared in several films as a child actor. He held dual citizenship in Hong Kong and the United States. He was raised in Kowloon (a section of Hong Kong) with his family until his late teens and then moved to the United States in 1958 at the age of eighteen.
